| Launched in Scotland in 1863, she was the first of several passenger ships to bear the name. She could carry 663 passengers, mostly in immigrant third class, at 11 knots. An 1872 engine upgrade increased her speed to 14 knots. The North German Line sold her off in 1894 to an Italian line who renamed her 'Orazio' |
