8 December 1906, age 15 - Court Case. Otto's father, Emil Kolbe, sued the threshing crew, Schmahl, Leonard, and Holzmann from the Town of Rhine. Otto was to work for the crew for $1.50 per day, but he was only paid $1.25. He was also to be paid for firing the boiler in the steam engine in the morning, and he was not paid for this. Judge Mahlstedt ordered the crew to pay Otto the money he was owed.
